Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.

Prepare work area and arrange components in accordance with SOPs and selected assembly technique 
Disassemble and decode lock mechanisms in accordance with job requirements 
Compile components and parts in accordance with assembly specifications 
Identify defective or faulty parts and process in accordance with SOPs 
Identify locking mechanism using appropriate methods in accordance with SOPs 
Apply locksmithing techniques and principles suited to assembly activity 
Maintain records or process in accordance with SOPs 
Fit component parts to ensure correct positioning and conformance with specifications 
Handle and store components and/or assembly in a manner least likely to cause damage and in accordance with SOPs 
Decode disassembled lock mechanism 
Check operation of the lock mechanism and key for conformance to specifications 
Identify and rectify faults in lock mechanism or key operation 
Select marking equipment and mark products with correct door and key reference information in accordance with SOPs 
Group, package and label products for installation in accordance with SOPs
